C. Divisions
1. There will be two divisions of nine clans
each. You will only play clans that are
in your division in the regular season.
Feel free to play those in the other division, though.
D. Season
1. There will be an 9 week season in which a
clan plays each clan in their division once.
The three clans with the best record in their
respective division will advance to the playoffs.
In the event of a tie for third and fourth place,
a match between the two tied clans will
determine which one advances.
2. Wins
a. All matches are best 2 out of 3 maps.
If a clan wins two maps the match is over
with that clan the victor.
b. Wins also may result through forfeits, ejections,
etc.
3. Losses
a. Hopefully obvious. Can also result if
you are the team disqualified, suspended
for the match, or ejected from the tourney.
4. Ties
a. If on the third map the score is tied,
the tie-breaker map will be played over.
If this results in a tie again, which won't happen,
then the match is concluded a draw.
b. Note: A tie is not when the score is
one map to one and both clans decide to quit.
That match will either be finished at a later
date or both clans receive a forfeit.
E. Playoffs
1. The top three clans in each division will
go to the playoffs. The playoffs are
ingle elimination, so you lose your out.
2. Playoff Structure
a. Division 1
1) 1st Place (Team A)
2) 2nd Place (Team B)
3) 3rd Place (Team C)
b. Division 2

Match
Setup
A. Details
1. Matches will be played on Clanring servers
set to DM1 (weapons respawn
after a period of time)
2. Duration of maps are 20 minutes, unless another
time limit is agreed upon
by both clans.
3. The schedule requires a match against a certain
clan each week. You are
expected to keep up with that schedule.
Clans that falls behind more than two
weeks of that schedule will go before the WWII
counsel for review and possible ejection.
In other words we don't want a clan 6-2 and another
1-1 so please keep up.
4. There
must be proof of attempted scheduling before the week is past,
otherwise one or both clans recive a forfeit.
B. Maps
1. The following maps are the ONLY maps allowed
to be played:
a. CTF1 – CTF8, CTF2m1 – CTF2m8 (DEFAULT
MAPS - a clan cannot
refuse to play any ctf map, unless it has already
been played in the match
(at which point it may not be played a second
time).
(Both clans must agree to play the following).
b. ID maps. from e1m1 to e4m8, as well as dm1-dm6
c. WWII officially sanctioned maps: QuaziCtf2
(By Quazi [X]), CtfGold
(by Norman and Prax of 420), Cheat Complex and
Remix (by Dungo)
d. Any other map agreed on by BOTH clans (ex:
ctf0, omegactf, gadiantn, nedctf, etc...)
2. Each clan picks a map. One clan picks
a map and the other picks the color for
that map. The tie-breaker must be agreed
upon by both clans.
If an agreement is not possible, either the official
or WWII counsel will
pick the tie-breaker. If colors for that
map cant be agreed the official will pick them
(probably he will flip a coin). Note: A
tie-break map CAN'T be a map that has been
played already, in other words three different
maps. The official is expected to
not pick a map in which one clan specializes,
if at all possible.
WWII tiebreaker maps are ctf4, ctf2m2, ctf2m3, and remix.
C. Players
1. This tournament is 4 on 4 by default.
Any other combination must be
agreed upon by both clans. The lowest is
4 on 4 and the highest is 6 on 6.
2. A clan has up to 15 minutes after the official
start time to get at least 2 players
to the server. Less than 2 players results
as a forfeit. If less than 4 players show
up the other clan is not required to drop anyone.
The other clan must agree to a 3 on 3.
f not it will be 4 on 3/ 2.
3. If one clan supplies only 1 player, that clan
CAN be forced to forfeit.
Otherwise a 4v1 can ensue.
4. Please try to get all your players to the
server 15 minutes ahead of time.
That way the server can be evaluated and the
match begins on time.
5. If one clan shows up short, but the other
has plenty, 4 players should be
played, not less. It is not the other clan's
fault that their opponent came in short,
and they should learn to be prepared, not continuously
get breaks.
6. Any special arrangements, like 4hpb vs 2hpb,
1lpb, etc are to be noted in the
match form if you know ahead of time.
7. Should another member of the short-handed
clan come on server, s/he is
NOT allowed to join until next round.
D. Demos
1. Demoing is encouraged for each clan, however
at least one person
must record a demo. If no one in either
clan wants to, then inform the official and he/she will.
2. A WWII demo repository will be provided.
All official demos are to be uploaded to it for
download by any WWII member.
3. Demos should be taken using faqproxy, as winquake
demoing is not very versatile
reconnect to start), and apparently unreliable
(it did not record several times during WWI).
If you are unfamiliar with faqproxy, ask another
official or the tourney administrator.
E. Submissions
1. The match details must be submitted to the
WWII at least 24 hours ahead of time.
Included in the report should include: clan names,
maps and colors, primary and
back-up servers, date and time. The match
form is on the WWII homepage.
F. Officials
1. A WWII official MUST be present for a match.
If the one scheduled for a match
doesn't show, find another official, but one
must be present.
G. Rescheduling
1. A match can be rescheduled up to 2 times,
but must take place within 1 week of
the original date. To reschedule, notification
of the match cancellation must be
given to both the other clan, AND an official
AT LEAST 2 hours in advance.
H. Observers
1. The WW1 official is the only required observer.
More observers must be
agreed upon by both clans.
A. Conduct
Respect for everyone WILL be shown.
1. Any obscene language or slanderous remarks
towards another player or clan
is strictly forbidden. Under the official's
discretion he/she may either warn or kick
the offender from the match. Any excessive
behavior of this kind will result in a r
eview by the WWII counsel for additional penalties.
2. No message flooding of any kind. This
does not include MM2 (obviously).
This means do not repeat the same message in
rapid succession.
3. Good sportsmanship is expected. You
most likely will not win every match
so keep the bitching and complaining to a minimum
when you lose, or win for
that matter
4. Web pages will be checked for slandering,
etc. Disputes will generally be
kept between clans, but if they spread, WWII
officials will intervene and issue warnings, etc...
5. As in WWI, the "SHUT UP AND PLAY" philosophy
holds.
6. A clan is expected to FINISH every match.
If a clan leaves early
(probably because of being beaten soundly with
a wet trout), they
automatically forfeit AND are suspended for one
match.
B. Cheating
1. No cheating of any kind will be tolerated.
Any of the following activities engaged
in by a player will result in an immediate kick
from the game and that player will be
banned from the tournament. Their clan
will be brought before the WWII counsel
for addition penalties (and there will be more).
a. ping flooding / nuking / teardropping / etc...
b. ping changing
c. bots of any kind
d. ejected players returning under another name
e. playing someone from another clan
under your clan's name
f. playing a member not on
clan's roster.
g. altering the player skin in ANY
way.
2. Any clan falsely accusing another of cheating,
tentatively three times, will be
brought before the WWII counsel for review.
C. Kicked Players
1. Any player kicked from a game by a WWII official
must leave promptly and
quietly, and may not return to the match.
If this individual continues to play that
clan forfeits the map, and the official can forfeit
the entire match.
2. Any kicked player will go before the WWII
counsel for possible additional penalties.
D. Banned Players/Clans
1. Players
a. Any banned player may not play in nor observe
any WWII match.
Any banned member that plays in a match, that
clan forfiets the match
and goes before to WWII counsel, may result in
the clan being banned as well.
b. Any banned clans may not observe any WWII
matches and all their
remaining matches are forfeited resulting in
wins for the other remaining clans
unless/until a replacement clan steps in.
E. Connections
1. HPB's only unless BOTH clans have agreed upon
a mixed match ahead of time.
Any arguments about a mixed match will be played
as an HPB match unless the
official can sort things out.
2. HPB means your ping SHOULD NOT drop below
180 for more than a few
seconds. Officials will make decisions
on discrepancies. This basically
limits hpb connections to dial-up.
3.
If both sides agree to lpb's, the various lpb's connection
speeds MUST be stated. There's a difference
between an isdn lpb and a T3 lpb, obviously.
F. Forfeits
1. A clan forfeits a match when:
a. Less than 2 members show up (unless the opposing
clan agrees to a 4vs1,
they can FORCE a forfeit).
b. When a clan is short and will not play
c. When a clan leaves before the match is finished
d. When the second reschedule fails
e. When a clan is disqualified for any reason
2. If a clan forfeits three matches they will
be brought before the WWII counsel
and possible ejection from the tournament may
ensue.
G. Clan Member Listings
1. A clan may only use members in a match that
are on the roster submitted
before the tournament begins (with the only changes
allowed being roster
additions up to week 4). Any other players
that participate in a match will
result in a forfeit, and that clan must go before
the WWII counsel for further penalties.
2. NO RINGERS. This means other players
using a clan members name that
is on the roster, whether they are in that clan
or not (Ive seen this done many times).
Penalties are the same as above.
3. No more than 30 players are allowed to be
on a clan's roster.
They will be sorted according to connection type
as hpb/lpb for official purposes, b
ut come match time, ping is what matters.
4. Roster additions are allowed until week 4
(with the only exception being if a clan
breaks up, and is absorbed by another clan).
Additions must present proof of full c
lan membership, and can play 2 weeks after this
is submitted and approved.
Once season begins, members MUST stick
to the names they are known under
on roster. Roster name changes are not
permitted during season. This is to help officials.
5. Players in multiple WWII clans must choose
ONE clan to play on. They may NOT
play for more than one. If they do, the
player will be suspended, and the clan
may end up forfeiting the match.
H. Observers
H. Observers
1. The WW1 official is the only required observer. More observers
must be
agreed upon by both clans.
I. Servers
1. There should be two servers agreed upon before
the match, a primary
server and back-up server. If a clan is
unhappy with a server the back-up
may be used if both clans are happy. If
there is an argument about servers,
which will happen AT LEAST once, the official
will evaluate the pings and make
a decision. If no decision can be made
then 1) the primary server will be used or 2) the
match is rescheduled.
2. Remember it is almost impossible to find a
server everyone is happy with so
check out servers before you play. A friendly
admin being present on a server
is VERY beneficial if possible.
The WsNet Council
A. Composition:
1. The council is composed
of one representative of each clan of WWII and the
council head.
2. The council head
is -=CT=-T-BirD (duh). He can debate, but only votes in the case
of a tie. He is also responsible for passing
final "verdicts".
B. Authority:
-Council has final say on everything.
-Can suspend and eject players or clans
by a majority vote.
-Hears complaints, major
disputes, and appeals, and votes on them.
Officials
A. Composition
They are the council members. Head
officials are -=CT=-T-BirD and [BB]PoiZon.
B. Observe Matches
EVERY tourney match MUST have an official present.
Main reason for this is to
make sure the rules are upheld. Secondarily,
the official has final say on any disputes,
and must report on the match results to the appropriate
webmaster. OFFICIALS
MAY NOT OBSERVE MATCHES INVOLVING THEIR OWN CLAN.
T
he reason for this is to keep bias down to a
minimum.
1. Authority
a) To suspend a player after 2 warnings.
b) To end a match and suspend a clan after
3 warnings.
-appeals go to
council
c) To eject a clan for ping cheating or
having banned/not registered players come on.
d) Final say on disputes (like "ping is highly
unfair for one clan, go to another server").
e) Suspend a match on suspicion of cheating.
Match will resume if council finds
no evidence of such.
2. Duties:
a) To check clan web pages for gloating, slandering,
etc about the tourney
match, clan, or person.
b) To demo the match unless another cameraman
is found.
c) Present firsthand accounts of events,
should the council require them.
3. Penalties:
a. If the council, upon appeal, finds an
official suspended a player/match incorrectly,
or if an ejection is done without ample proof
(i.e. screenshot of cheating, etc),
the official receives a warning. If done
a second time, the official is relieved of duty
and a replacement found.
4. Rights:
On server, the official is the final authority.
He is to be treated with full respect,
and should this not be shown, has the authority
to eject any player from the server
(even -=CT=-T-BirD, should he have gone crazy).
Webpage
Upkeep
The webpage will have the main, descriptive
page. Links from there include
(but are not limited to) the news,
rules, clans, schedule, records, and
matches/demos page.
The upkeep of this falls onto clan volunteers,
who are expected to keep it up to date,
with no more than a 3 day delay on updates.
http://www.dwave.net/~rerack/wwii.htm
The WWII webmaster is [SoD]GhostDad (rerack@dwave.net),
but will
gladly accept any help he can get!
ICQ
Finally, all clans are required to use icq, and
all leaders/ match handlers are
to have all others on their list, as well
as officials and webmasters for quick
contact, news, updates, etc.
Joining
By invitation only. Submit a letter
of interest, and the WW1 council will
evaluate your clan for possible admission.
A. Conditions
1. You have read and agree to all the above
rules and possible penalties
for their disregard.
2. Your clan accepts the penalties for
any breakage of rules, as well as
coming up shorthanded, come match
time.
3. You understand that if your clan does
not get into this season, you retain
top billing in order of application
for the next. As it is first come, first serve,
veteran clans that wish to play next
season will have the highest priority, followed
by the oldest applicants. It is possible
the clan number will be expanded for next season.
B. If accepted, and an opening becomes
available, your clan (should it
be next in line) will be allowed to take over
that spot with a 0-0 record.
You are also allowed to attempt to replay any
match the previous clan had already
played IF AND ONLY IF the other
team agrees to it (the previous results will be
replaced with the new ones). More matches
played = better chance at playoffs.
