1. This league is NQ CTF (Normal Net Quake Capture The Flag, NOT qw, tf, or q2).
  2. SERVER MOD AND SETTINGS: All matches must be played on crctf servers with standard settings. Standard settings include dm2 setting where weapons disappear when you get them and respawn 30 seconds later, 20 minute timelimit, and no frag limit. See crctf.quake.erols.com as an example of standard server settings. No server list is provided by BCTF unless someone would like to help out with that.
  3. MAP LIST: Maps are chosen by each clan from ctf1-ctf8, ctf2m1-ctf2m8, and ctf3m1-ctf3m9. Other maps may be used if both clans agree. (maps and paks can be found at www.captured.com/loc)
  4. TEAM SIZE: Team sizes will be 2v2 or larger. Letting everyone available play is encouraged. Teams are to be kept even. Mixed HPB and LPB pings are allowed if both clans agree. Team size should be discussed when arranging a game time. Games should be promptly rescheduled if not enough players are ready at gametime and one clan demands a larger game. Clans that repeatedly require rescheduling due to not enough players will be removed from the league.
  5. MAP SELECTION: All matches are best 2 of 3 maps. One map is chosen by each clan, and a tiebreaker is agreed to by both clans. The clan that didn't pick the map chooses their color on that map. Map and color choices can be changed as many times as you want up until midnight 5 days before the match (Ex. Choose maps by Sunday night for a friday night match.) After that time both clans must agree to any changes (This is to encourage practicing and scrimmaging on the maps before each match.) Map choice disputes will be handled by the League Owner making random map picks from the entire list. Avoid this please, becuase it could result in maps that are laggy or that both clans really hate.
  6. SERVERS: Several servers are suggested by each clan when maps are chosen, and a tentative agreement made on which server to try first and which to try as backup. For east vs west clans,
  7. PING TIMES:
    High Ping Division
    a) Players who ping below 175 should download Qping and be prepared to use it for possible ping adjustments.
    b) Pregame pings of analog modems are required to be over 175ms. The pings should be checked and adjusted after joining the game while standing next to your team's flag.
    c) HPB clans may also use Qping adjustments as a bargaining tool for server selection. Example: "We will play on this server if all pings are adjusted over 200 with Qping." This should be discussed while arranging the match if possible.
    d) ISDN (and 1-way cable) players must add 25ms to their pings set using "rule b". If an ISDN has the lowest ping, he/she should adjust his ping 25ms above the ping of the lowest opponent. If each team has one isdn, their pings should be matched closely at 25ms over the lowest analog modem ping.
    e) 2-way Cable/ADSL/T1/T3 players are not allowed to play in the high ping division unless the other clan agrees. If the other clan agrees, then they can also decide what ping is acceptable. Example: The other clan can demand that the 2-way cable guy matches pings with their highest player's ping.
    f) The official can ask any player to adjust his/her ping to meet these rule, but it is each player's responsibility to maintain the lower ping limit.
    g) All ping adjustments should be on a demo that starts during the pregame and runs throughout the game.QPing adjustments should be redone after level changes.
    LPB Division:

    a) LPB clans may use Qping adjustments as a bargaining tool for server selection. Example: "We will play on this server if all pings are adjusted over 80 with Qping." Please download and test Qping for this purpose. Also, discuss this with the other clan while setting up the match if possible.
    b) All ping adjustments should be on a demo that starts during the pregame and runs throughout the game. The pings should be checked and adjusted after joining the game while standing next to your team's flag. QPing adjustments should be redone after level changes.
  8. SCHEDULING: Matches are played weekly and must be scheduled and organized by both clans. The start day of each week is on the schedule. Matches may be played before the start date, but matches must be played on or before the following Sunday night or forfeits will be assessed by the League Owner against any irresponsible clans. Extensions may be granted for valid reasons upon request in advance. ICQ uin's, Email addresses, IRC channel, and homepage for each clan should be found on the "Clans" page for contacting them.
  9. OBSERVERS: Observers are allowed as long as both clans agree on a maximum number per clan.
  10. DEMOS: The official or someone reliable must make a chasecam demo of each map using autochase if available. The demo maker will type 'status' when people enter the server, 'ping' at least 10 times during each map, and 'efficiency' and 'playerstats' after each map before warping. Upload zipped demos to ftp.clan-rum.org using an ftp program like cuteftp (www.cuteftp.com). Log in as user anyomous, and put the demos in /incoming folder with a descriptive name like BCTF_CLANA_v_CLANB.zip. If any controversy arises, this demo and any other demos available will be reviewed by the League Owner and also the clan leaders if a vote is necessary.
  11. QTV: Clans will arrange QTV whenever possible. No QTV proxy server is provided by BCTF unless someone would like to donate one.
  12. RESULTS FORM: The results form is filled out by the winning clan to get credit.
  13. SUBSTITUTES AND PAUSING THE GAME: One player may be substituted for another during the game if someone gets disconnected or severely lagged. The game may be paused to allow a disconnected player to reconnect if no substitute is available. The game may be paused for other reasons if both clans agree. Make sure everyone is ready, and type in a countdown before unpausing the game.
  14. NO CHEATING allowed! Cheaters are suspended or expelled from the tourney. The only allowed modifications to your game are listed here. Map vising for transparent water is allowed and waterhack for non-glquake players. Console commands in configuration files like +mlook, sensitivity, alias, bind, etc. are allowed. Chase_active is allowed, since it is a console command built into glquake and winquake. The only proxies that are only allowed are FAQ proxy for demoing, and QPing when allowed in the "Ping Times" section above. 3 fingers GLquake Mods are allowed since they are available by public access and difficult to restrict (includes neon x-hair, missile-fix, red-nails, no-xdress skin, and rune-glow). Otherwise, no modified player or other graphics are allowed. External programs, such as the voice communication program roger wilco, are allowed as long as they do not need quake to work, and do not interact with quake or quake packets. Quake, Winquake, and GLquake are all allowed. The ten.net versions of quake: qten, winqten, and glquaketen, are all allowed as long as ping rules are not violated. The following cheats are NOT allowed: PingBots, AimBots, Proxies, Ringers (Each player can have only one clan. and that includes other non-BCTF League nq ctf clans.).
  15. NUKING: No nuking, ping bombing, or attempting to subvert a match in any way. Suspected attacks must be verified with some type of nuke nabber or firewall before accusations are made about who did what. Ask a clan mate what firewall they use. Players should try to protect themselves as much as possible. Running a firewall is recommended. Ask ops in #bctf for their firewall. Officials should get firewalls too, since they can also get nuked during games. Non-league members may be the most likely persons to try to mess up our matches, so be sure before making accusations of other clans. Also, look here for suggested win95 upgrades that may help protect you.
  16. SCREENSHOTS: One screenshot per clan per match may be requested between maps of only one opposing player to check for graphics cheats like modified skins or maps. Whatever objects are suspected to be modified will be included in the one screenshot if possible. The player must take the screenshot of requested objects, zip the file if possible, and start sending the screenshot all without disconnecting or immediately after disconnecting. Note: Its a major pain to request, take, send, and analyze screenshots while players wait, so don't abuse this rule or it will be abolished. If no cheats are found, the player deserves a public apology.
  17. LEAGUE OWNER: The League Owner is W.Wallace from the BH clan. He will resolve all conflicts and controversy by decree or by carrying out a league wide vote where each clan gets one vote and simple majority rules. He decides on forfeits on a case by case basis. He also is responsible for keeping the web page, updating our results, and posting relevant news.
