WTF?!  The Ruins?!?  Who plays this map?!  Who even likes this map?! Well there are a few quakers that still like this map because this opened up the match between these two clans.  This match also marked the return of Blessed, he's come out of retirement. (those that don't know what I'm talking about check the RuM history page.

Anyway I feel the key to this map is the quad and both teams did their fair share of quad whoring. ;-)  Its hard to get any caps in on this map and that was evident in the first few minutes of play.  Blessed was able to break the deadlock with a couple of caps in the first 10 minutes.

Jack and Warped worked well patrolling the perimeter of the base not allowing any of DBD in, and if they were sneaky enough to grab the flag, Panic made sure they weren't going to  escape.

Stifling defense and a powerul attack kept DBD off balance and allowed RuM an easy victory.

Gloom Castles

 Scores of the second map

This map is the remake of the ID map Gloom Keep.  Both bases are modeled after that main map.   An interesting choice, but not as crazy as The Ruins! ;-)

This was an exciting map to watch after the begining of the game which was kind of dull(from an observers point of view).  Both teams were able to grap the enemies flag but no one could return the flag for a capture.  Rum almost capped when Jack killed the flag carrier and returned the flag, but Pepsi was just a little slow making the capture (Pepsi must still be trying to get used to being HPB. ;-) and Orji was able to slip away with the flag being pursued by two defenders.

Jack did a superb job controlling the two quads all by himself.  He basically owned the middle, nothing was getting thoroughm period.   I continued to be a stalemate for the next few minutes until Gorji was able to catch Pepsi slippin' and was able to return his flag.

DBD added a couple of quick caps to extend their lead.   Gorji was able to gain control of the two quads and the captures kept on coming for DBD.

Rum fought back valiantly to get a couple caps themselves, but DBD quickly countered with several more caps to put the game away.

 Scores of the third map

This map is the classic CTF remake of the ID deathmacth map Claustrophobolis.  Both bases are modeled after the main map.  The bases are fairly even so pure skill shhould determine the winner here.

Now as the score indicates this was an extremely close macth.   The teams that played were evenly macthed in skill.  There vicories on the previous maps showed how they could dominate on their map of choice.  This tie breaker proves just how even these teams are.

The captures were going back and forth, fast and furoius.   After ten minutes the score was tied, but DBD began to pull away.  Gorji showcased his skills as a flag runner by eluding 2 would be returners from Rum with some excellent grappling.  Gorji was able to hold the flag for at least five minutes until his team was able to return the flag for him to capture.

DBD quickly captured again and again, and their lead jumped out to 170 points.  Warped was able to counter with a cap of his own to bring his team closer to DBD.  Blessed followed with a cap closing the gap even more.   Another *cap sound* courtesy of  Pepsi, and Rum was nipping at the heels once more.  Just 20 points down with five minutes to go.

At this point each team was ablt to grab the other teams flag and a bit of a stalemate ensued.  No one could return the flag and DBD clung to their lead desperately.  Four minutes reamining.  No returns.  Two minutes to go, and Tripp blasts Rum's flag carrier and he returns his flag.  DBD captures again.  With time running out and Rum down by at least two caps the macth is over right?  WRONG!

Pepsi wildly darts for the flag, and managses to return to his base for a cap, with DBD defenders franticaly scrambling after him. Less than a minute to go, DBD still ahead by jut a cap.  With time running down Warped grabs the flag heads back to base. DBD desperately tries to prevent the capture by stealing the flag.  But every attempt fails, and the count down begins.   15, 14, Gorji grabs the flag tries to escape, then BOOM! Death from above, by way of Jack.  The Return.  The *cap sound*. The game.  OMFG!  Rum wins! ;-)

An exctitng game.  If you have time you should definitely peep this one.  Unbelievable finish.  Good games guys.
